Clearwell Castle

Seating 150 for the ceremony and 250 for the reception, and with 39 bedrooms, this romantic castle, nestling in the Forest of Dean, is easily accessible from Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester.  Clearwell Castle regularly wins awards as a wedding venue, and it’s not difficult to see why - the 75 foot ballroom aisle gives any bride the chance to make a stunning entrance and that’s not the only feature that’s outstanding. It also has leaded windows and a dais for the ceremony, which adds dramatic depth to an already solemn moment.

Gosfield Hall, Essex

Gosfield Hall

The word magnificent is often bandied about, but there’s really no other way to describe Gosfield Hall in Essex. Ten acres of parkland surround the Hall, which sits beside a lake. Blending Elizabethan and Georgian architecture the house’s superlative architecture offers the Queen’s Gallery, with a 120 foot aisle, wonderful wood panelling, leaded windows and chandeliers. The ballroom is similarly elaborate and makes a fantastic wedding breakfast venue. Drinks and dancing can be hosted in the library and party room for an all-day celebration, complemented with luxurious bedrooms to allow you and your guests to relax before or after your wedding.

Holmewood Hall, Cambridgeshire

The Gold Room, seating 77, has a fifty foot aisle, massive sash and stained glass windows, and an 18 carat gold leaf ceiling, while the Bandstand offers lovely views and carefully tended gardens. Either way, your reception in the Dining Room will be a stately affair, which you can follow by dancing in the Vault. Finally, 15 elegant suites allow bride and groom and their guests to retire gracefully at the end of the day.
