About Temple Island
Temple Island is situated a mile and a half downstream of the picturesque market town of Henley, on one of the most beautiful reaches of the River Thames. The Temple itself is a delightful folly, designed by James Wyatt as a fishing lodge for Fawley Court. The Etruscan Room is of fine proportions and commands magnificent views of the Thames.
Today this elegant and exclusive venue is available for hire, both during Royal Regatta Week and throughout the year. It offers a unique setting for entertaining, whether for corporate hospitality, wedding receptions or for private parties. It also provides a secure location for confidential meetings, and an idyllic venue for presentations and promotions.
The Temple offers accommodation for up to 40 guests at a formal luncheon or candlelit dinner. With the addition of an elegant canopy, up to 120 people can enjoy an al fresco party on the riverside lawns surrounding the building.
The Caterers for Temple Island have been chosen not only for their excellent food and service but also because they have many years of experience in the logistics of operating on the Island. They will act as your event manager and ensure that your function runs smoothly whilst you relax and enjoy your special day.
The Island is approached by boat, of which there is a wide range available to suit the client’s choice of style and size. Whatever the choice, the journey by water adds enchantment to a memorable occasion.
