St Helens Town Hall
St Helens Town Hall is a building of timeless elegance and is the perfect place to host your big day. Whether you would like to get married or form a civil partnership, just like you, your ceremony should be special and unique. We offer various options for your ceremony and there are a number of ways you can make your ceremony unique.
The stunning Ceremony Room, with its wood panelling and period features can hold up to 60 guests and is available Monday to Saturday.
For larger parties the Council Chamber, with its historic décor, and equally unique character provided by the ornate wood panelling, incredible dark wood and gold double-height ceiling, and with light streaming in from the elevated 360-degree windows. The Council Chamber will comfortably accommodate up to 100 people. Available on Friday and Saturdays.
The Legh Room is a smaller venue but no less grand than our larger state rooms. Complete with light wood panelling, ornate ceiling, and two antique stone fireplaces, it is a wonderfully intimate venue which feels larger due to the high ceilings and two large windows that help fill the space with light.
For an intimate ceremony, the Legh room accommodates the couple, 2 witnesses and up to 4 guests, no enhancements (music or precessions) are made at this low-key ceremony available Monday to Friday (excludes Wednesday) at 10 am or 11 am only.
For those couples who just want to keep things low-key, the statutory register office ceremony room is suitable for the couple and two witnesses only to take part in a standard ceremony. This room is available on a Wednesday at 9.30am only.
Our Main Hall provides a superb setting for wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. It is our largest room complete with stage, seating balcony, and bar, making it ideal for larger events as well as those incorporating entertainment, such as: weddings, receptions, awards, concerts, fayres, and plays.
The hall can hold up to 300 people, or up to 360 if using the balcony. With ornate features, double height ceiling and proscenium arch, the hall can be dressed to suite any occasion.
We can provide catering and refreshments for all events, either through our own catering services and partners, or we can work with you to incorporate your own catering provider.
