A small hen party can be tricky to plan for, but at The Wedding Directory we’ve got some amazing ideas that will make the bride-to-be feel thoroughly pampered and give everybody an unforgettable experience. Here’s our top ten party ideas:
- Girls Night In – this is the simplest evening off all; a big grown-up sleepover with new jimjams, champagne, wonderful snacks and nibbles and a couple of fave films to get everybody in the party mood. Make sure you’ve got a Polaroid camera on hand to catch the key moments and share them instantly, and you’ve got the perfect hen night at home.
- Learn A Dance – we’ve all seen those father and daughter wedding dances that must have taken months to learn! If there’s a small group of you, it’s easy to learn a new dance style, from Bollywood to Salsa, Strictly to HipHop. Okay, you won’t become experts, but you’ll be good enough to impress the rest of the guests.
- Record a Song – on the other hand, if you’re the kind of girls who can’t help bursting into song, they why not hire a recording studio and make it real? There are recording studios across the UK that will host you, provide backing tracks (and even session musicians) to help you make your Wedding Single.
- Master Mixology – learning to make cocktails is a skill that’s never wasted, and virtually every cool cocktail bar will be delighted to help you celebrate by teaching you to make some classic cocktails. Just remember to take your souvenir photos early, or maybe hire a photographer too, because this is one hen event that is likely to go silly very quickly!
- Mobile Spa – if you’re a small group that loves to be pampered, then hire a mobile spa and get a couple of therapists to come along and give you an amazing session of mani-pedis, facials and other luscious delights. You can do this at home, or book into a nice hotel to make it even more spa like.
- Photo Shoot – love photography? Well then hire a photographer, pick a location and set up a group photo shoot. You can bring or hire costumes and set a theme, to make this a really special occasion.
- Pizza Making – this one’s a tasty, and cost-effective treat for your hen party. We all love pizza, but learning to make our own is a fantastic experience, from spinning the dough to wielding the pizza peel (that’s what they call the shovel!) you’ll love making your own pizzas.
- Flower Crown Creation – another event you can enjoy from home. Making an artificial flower crown is a very girly activity, and combined with some champagne, great tunes and wonderful nibbles and this is a low key but high satisfaction hen event that gives everybody something to take home to remind them of the day.
- Take The High Road – an outdoor adventure might be just the thing for your small hen party, if you’re all outdoorsy. Think about a hike to a great pub, a picnic in a quiet park, a cycle along a canal or even a bit of outdoor swimming (assuming you’re all good swimmers). If you’re doing something out of your comfort zone, maybe hire a guide to ensure you’re all safe. And why not finish with an outdoor sauna?
- Perfume Design – this is another amazing activity for a small hen party. Spending time learning about the elements of perfume creation can help you create a personalised scent that is uniquely designed to reflect your own personality and preferences. You can even wear it down the aisle!
