Great Ideas for a Stag Party

Stag parties were originally a quiet pint down the pub the night before the wedding however, nowadays stag parties have taken on a whole new realm of craziness (#TheHangover). From an outrageous weekend away full of ‘stagish’ antics to a day or two of exciting, adrenalin-fuelled activities, there is an endless choice of things to do to celebrate your last few days of freedom. Therefore, we’ve come up with a selection of great ideas to inspire the Groom and his Best Man.

A weekend away

Whether it be a weekend away in the UK or, a ‘lads on tour’ weekend abroad to one of the many budget European destinations on offer, taking a trip is a fab way to incorporate a few activities in one fun-fuelled weekend with all your groomsman.

Places such as, Brighton, London, Leeds and Newcastle will provide you with a fun night out on a budget as well as, the opportunity to do some group activities in the day. Whereas, a weekend abroad to places such as, Amsterdam, Budapest, Barcelona and Magaluf will allow you to explore the beer and nightlife of a new country and, if you want to branch out from the drinking scene, the culture.

Although going abroad may seem like the pricier option, there are some great offers on flights, accommodation and activities, which will make the trip a lot more affordable than you may think.

Renting a penthouse or mansion is also a great idea to indulge in a spot of luxury and have everyone staying under one roof.

An activity

Incorporating a group activity into your stag do is a brilliant idea. Not only will it be a lot of fun for the whole group but, it will also encourage everyone to get to know each other and give individuals who are not so keen on the nightlife side of things a chance to get involved.

Whether you choose to go paintpalling, bungee jumping, fishing, go karting, cliff diving or all of the above, activities are the perfect bonding experience for everyone before a night out and, is also probably one of the only parts of the weekend you’re likely to remember…

Fancy dress

Release your inner child by dressing up. Whether it be in a morph suit, a skirt and wig or a sumo wrestlers outfit, dressing up can be hilarious, memorable and is bound to embarrass yourself and your stag group, which is the whole point of a stag do anyway, isn’t it?

Getting risque

It has become standard procedure that on a stag do there is some form of stripping (be it a stripper or yourself). However, if you don’t fancy the awkwardness of going to a strip club or, think your wife-to-be might kill you if you do, there are other options. Why not head to a burlesque club? Or a show? Slightly more sophisticated and will still give the ‘lads what they want’.

Dinner

If you’re looking for a more low key affair, there is nothing wrong with an old school evening of a curry and a beer. Gather all of your friends at your favourite restaurant, slurp on your favourite brew and savour not being too drunk and chained to a lamp post the night before your wedding. Although, I’m unsure whether your friends will let you get off that lightly…
