Grooms Fashion

Grooms fashion has evolved over the years and, although a traditional morning suit is still very much showcased at weddings today, there is now an abundance of alternative suit cuts, materials and accessories to choose from to jazz up your outfit and set it apart from the rest.

On your wedding day, it is traditional that the bride and her sensational dress are the centre of attention. However, who’s to say the groom and his outfit can’t fish for a compliment or two as well.

Here’s our guide to groom’s fashion to give you some outfit inspiration.

Morning suit

A morning suit is considered a relaxed formal outfit and is often worn by grooms on their wedding day. Usually a combination of a black/mid-grey tailored morning coat, waistcoat and trousers, this type of suit oozes vintage style and sophistication and is perfect to ensure you stand out on your big day. Finish the look off with a black top hat and shiny shoes and you’re onto a winner.

If you’re looking for a unique, hip and trendy outfit, a textured tweed suit is a great alternative to a traditional morning suit. Available in multiple colours and patterns as well as, on the high street and at bespoke tailors, a tweed suit is sure to turn heads and is ideal for a countryside wedding.

Blue suit

Sleek navy blue suits are becoming an increasingly popular choice for grooms and it’s easy to see why. Teamed with a crisp white shirt, matching or colourful skinny tie and tanned brogues, these suits look great and allow you to diverge from the traditional black tie look without compromising your formality.

Grey suit

Grey suits look very smart and can be teamed with a bright coloured tie to make the outfit stand out. When tailored well, this suit is a safe bet in making sure you look smart and cool yet still traditional.

Accessories are an integral part of your wedding outfit and are what will personalise your look to you. A top hat and bow tie are essential for a formal, black tie outfit whilst colourful socks, jazzy printed ties and pocket squares, leather belts and suave sunglasses are all brilliant for the added ‘cool’ factor.
